Hello! As you can probably tell my name is Collin Kendall. I grew up in the small town of Ridgway Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder with a degree in Strategic Communications: Media Design and a minor in Computer Technology Design.
Now, I will give you 3 facts about myself that I find interesting and what they have taught me about myself.
1. I am an avid white water kayaker that has been lucky enough to boat the Grand Canyon twice. Going down a river that intense and powerful at changed the way I had to view and trust myself and is something I still think about every day. Kayaking has helped me grow to be an independent and determined person and I hope to take those lessons with me into any career in the future.
2. Over the past few years I have been teaching myself how to sew my own clothing and screen print my custom graphics. Being able to create something that I can go out and wear gives me the most joy in the world. I am able to look at clothes that people would discard and I can turn them into pieces of art that I love. Overall being able to explore this medium has helped me tenfold with my graphic design skills and has pushed me to be more creative in my everyday life.
3. My favorite thing to do is going exploring with my dad. Since I was young he would take me deep into the wilderness, showing me the wonder and magic that nature has to offer. One day we would be camping at a 13,000 ft lake and the next we would be skiing a crazy couloir. These memories are the ones I hold closest and is what reminds me of who I am because I learned the world is actually a beautiful place and I have the power to share that with people.
I am a pretty simple guy that loves the outdoors and sharing experiences with others. Growing up in nature has helped me with graphic design by nurturing my imagination and realizing there is more than the eye can see.
